ati woes

when i installed the drivers for this card i had the catalyst control center running ... just upgraded to 5.6 drivers (after uninstalling all the ati apps) and now the control center is gone

any help in getting it back would be appreciated

Are some versions of the center incompatible with newer drivers ?

Dunno if its the same thing but when mine vanished after updating the Cats a while back and I needed to download a new version of the control centre to get it up and running again

There are two versions of the Catalyst driver package, one with and another without the CCC. Most likely you've downloaded the one without the CCC.

downloaded both - now i can't get it into my task bar where it belongs ft:

I had a moment of inspiration - i would install it from the cd which came with my gfx card .... big mistake, it installed another set of drivers onto the 5.6 ones, pc was running like a dog

uninstalled it all, downloaded the 32 meg drivers and now it appears to be running ok, but i just can't get it onto my task bar

try using driver cleaner and doing a fresh install of the drivers you want.

Personally I go for the one without the control centre, but do you mean the icon isnt appearing in the task bar? If you RC the desktop, can you access it that way?

Ill be installing new drivers for my X800 tonight, if I get the same Ill let you know.
