My GC controllers shoulder button stopped working!

MY Y button just stopped working, still clicks and everything but no response in games. I cant open it up (no tri-screwdriver) so is it just buy a new one? or can you open it with another tool?

I know it's all in good humour but let's keep the answers relevant please, this is question and answer, not question and spam.

Spam? I think the guys were trying to skirt round the obvious consumer power solution.

As for your pad mate unless you can open it it's not going to fix itself.
You could attempt to butcher an old screw driver somehow or pick up a triwing.
The best soultion is to obtain a new replacement pad. Use whichever method you feel is appropriate.

Phoning Nintendo wouldn't hurt - let us know what happens if you do.

Have you got a small electrical screwdriver ??

that will open it, i take it they are the same screws as on the gba etc ??

I have opened loads of them with one of these.

To me Sidez answer was as relevant as it gets. Its exactly what i would have done without a second thought.

Precisely, taking it back to Argos and using their policy in the future to return a defective item is good advice, but it doesn't help shogun2k much as he didn't actually buy the pad in question from there - that was my original point, the advice in question is not helpful to his current situation, mm'kay?

Please tell me that you're winding me up? because i'm not sure that you are!

I'm not going to persue this any further, i think that maybe you're a bit too honest for you own good.

left stopped working on my d-pad - takes about 20 presses to pick up - odd

My apologies, I'm not overtly familiar with the many ways of consumer conning, maybe I am too honest for my own good.

If you can claim a replacement off Argos without any proof of purchase then absolutly go for it, I suppose I just assumed their returns policy would be a bit more rigid than that.
