    Wi-fi Hotspot question

I have been doing a little research on the closest wi-fi hotspot to where I live. There is a local pub which is a wi-fi hotspot with cloud. I am a bit of a noob with this technology. Do you have to be inside the pub to get access ?

    Thanks

Can't see how they would limit the signal to within the pub walls, but I'm bit of noob on this front also, how did you find your local hotspot ? is there a website listing them ? cheers.

I tried a google search for wi fi hotspots. There are numerous websites that will search for your nearest hot spot.

When your out about town, turn your wireless on. You'll be suprised how many people have unsecured wireless lans. Its probably illegal using an authorised connection but who actually cares. It they cared it would have WPA or WEP enabled.

/edit just searched my local area with http://www.jiwire.com/

found 57 wifi spots!!! mostly in pubs and Mc****

How do you get the PSP to search for a wi-fi connection?

Pretty good where I live, the local council have put in wi-fi access from Angel tube all the way up to Highbury and Islington corner (whole of Upper St basically) which is a good mile or so. So you can get access in all the shops, restaurants and bars, not that I've tried it yet mind.

I'm waiting for Mario Kart DS....lol!

Turn on the WiFi switch on the left hand side, and then, from the system menu, go to connection settings, then, new connection, and then scan.
