    Virtua Fighter 2 Arcade CAB

    Hi,

I am being offered this one for ?350 in full working order.

The seller tells me I can buy a "SEGA to JAMMA" converter so that it could run other games. I'm not sure but I think VF2 is "Model 1" so I don't know if it can run anythign else.

Does anyone know if this would be a good CAB to buy, with a view to also being able to put a MAME PC in it?

VF2 runs on model 2 - displayed on medium res monitor.

If you're talking about the UK VF2 standup cabinet it's not worth buying. You'll have to drill out the control panel for extra buttons and those standard sticks reek.

Model 2 to JAMMA is not too difficult to do - if you can pick up a pre-wired convertor/loom that makes things even easier.

        Thanks for the answer.

I live in Norway, (Yous sent me a cube RBG cable once, your cube goodness making it all the way up here...) but I guess the cab is "European"

        It's called

"Lars Berg Universal R?d " Which means "Lars Berg (a name) Universal Red.

It has a 20 inch screen, and only 3 buttons per player. Plus 1up/2up. Did VF2 only use 3 buttons?

        **Confused**

I'm not mega into VF games, and am looking more for vertical shooters, so with that in mind, do you think it may be OK on price?

Yes VF2 only used 3 buttons. I your not into VF games and are looking for shooters I don't think it'll be worth your while buying this. Standard cabinets are pretty cheap, I bought a cab with StreetFighter 2 and Joe and Mac and couple of years ago for ?50.

There a place over in the UK specialising in selling those I think.

Shame they don't sell them here.

Killercabs may have one Astro left if you're lucky but I think they're down to Aero's.
They'll ship to you but it won't be cheap.
