Namco - king of PAL conversions?

Just ordered Ace Combat 5 and read that it has 60hz mode and 16:9 support. Soul Calibur II also supports both of these and correct me if I'm wrong - so does Tekken 5?

Does this make Namco the best developer for PAL conversions? Certainly seems they've learnt since TTT and RR5!

Namco's GameCube PAL conversions are strange mind.

Tales of Symphonia is only full-screen PAL. However, they've also made it full speed. I think they did the same with Baten Kaitos too.
Top marks for effort there, though I wonder what the point is when 60Hz modes suffice nowerdays.

Yeah, I'm not sure which takes longer - implementing a 60hz mode or full screen PAL 50hz which runs at the right speed. I'd guess the later.

Sega can be hit and miss though. The majority of games have 60hz (apart from Sonic Mega Collection - grrrr!) but only half of those have widescreen modes.

I think Burnout 2 was the first game I bought which had it all; 60hz, widescreen & Pro Logic II.

PAL Tekken 4 had a prog scan mode too.
