PSO dreamcast worth playing offline?

Just wondering if this is worrth playing without out access to a phone line.
Is there an offline 1 player game in it at all, if so is it any fun?

PSO offline is tedious at best. The combat is incredibly dull and repetitive.
The 'story' is pretty pathetic too.

It's good fun online due to the community aspect, but offline I really wouldn't bother. Play a real offline RPG instead.
