    What DC 2D Fighters?

There's so many to choose from so what are the best ones? Like I've owned Marvel vs Capcom 2 on the machine and it didn't click with me and I did own Guilty Gear X at one point which I did enjoy but sold it far to quickly for some strange reason. So which titles get you going? Vampire Chronicle, KOF, GGX, SF 3 or Last Blade 2? I'd appreciate any feedback, especially ones with combo systems that aren't brutal as I'm pretty useless at the genre

    SF3: Third Strike, clearly.

I'm a sucker for Last Blade 2 and Garou, too.

You might want to have a look at Project Justice/Moero! Justice Gakuen as well - it's in 3D, but plays in 2D and is loads of fun.

The job SNK (proper NOT Playmore) did with KOF '99 Evolution is really nice, To this day I think its still the best home update of the series to a non Neo-Geo console.

The game is full of attention to detail and care.

There isn't one 2D fighter I own on the DC that I dislike. If you are deterred by the difficulty of the game and would like something with a bit less attention to parrying, combos and the like, then Rival Schools 2, KOF Dream Match 99 and Evolution 99 are three easy to get to grips with titles. I also have a soft spot for the first Capcom vs SNK title too, despite the horribly balanced characters.

Yeah the combo system can be a bit difficult for newcomer's but I would urge you to stay with a game with more depth until you improve as the will give you the longevity that you should get out of a fighter and prepare you for the nest batch of 2d fighter's to come.It also is more fun learning neww move's all the time, instead of just mastering the game in a week.

SSf2x for matching service, vamp C for matching service and Sf3 Double Impact and third strike are amongst my reccomendations.

I'd start with a street fighter and work up from there.

                    any, but probably SSF2X

if you're a complete newb who can't throw fireballs or jump HK,HP,dp+LP... well they are the best place to start, things like KOF/LB et cetera are far deeper than SSF2X, and feature far stranger move combinations and FAR more complicated fighting systems.

well if you have an xbox or ps2 you'd be better off getting 3rd strike on one of those.
W Impact on dreamcast is suitably different to be worth purchasing though.

zero3 is cool, but apparently not as good as the saturn version.
so personally i'd be tempted to get some of the things that you cant get on other consoles.
                      super street fighter 2 X
                      marvel vs capcom (1)
                      capcom vs snk pro
maybe even jo jo's bizzare adventure.
and whichever kof is supposed to be the best
