Is there a big difference in Image quality with DC VGA?

How big is the difference between normal Dreamcast SDTV and DC via VGA.

In other words is there a big difference between 480i and 480p?

Yeah, it looks mint through VGA. If you have ever seen GC in 480i then 480p then expect the same sort of jump.

it looks like a pc powervr card connected to VGA - crisp

2d games like SF3 look awful though

with VGA it's crisper and brighter, I really noticed the jump up in image quality, plus DC VGA boxes are nice and cheap which always helps.

Ikaruga on a CRT monitor in 'Tate mode is utterly astounding, yes.

edit - sorry, should have explained why I mentioned that specifically. For some reason, I find the interlacing scanlines a lot more noticeable when you rotate the screen; the difference is then stands out more.
