    XBCopy question

I copied a game to hdd for first time and it all seemed easy enough. The game (Burnout 2) now appears under the launch menu but when I try to start it I get a loading message for 2/3 seconds and then the machine reboots to the menu?

    Any ideas?

Most of the time when you do this the game needs to be patched. If you go to www.xbox-scene.com, you'll find plenty of tutorials on everything Xbox related.

Are patches available on the site?

People get pointed to xbox-scene all the time but I can never make sense of anything

Appreciate the help from both of you

Okay in "Settings" I now have:

          FTP
          In Game Reset > NO

          RDTools
          In Game Reset > NO

          Misc
          In Game Reset > NO

^ and now the loading screen just fades back to the EvoX menu At least its changed.

Anyone else got an idea why its doing this?/Had similar problems?

The newer games require patching, either that or your Bios needs flash upgrading (tho I did that, and it didnt sort it).

Patching seems the only way to go right now. Games released before, and including, Dead or Alive Extreme Beach Volleyball, will work off the Hard Drive no problem btw.

I run my copy of Burnout 2 from my HDD fine with no problems. However I used PX HDD Loader instead of XBcopy to copy it over.

I agree, but I think most of the people on a site like this (more geared towards game collecting than most others) won't be using pirates and will be doing this for convenience or to protect the condition of their games.

If I had an Xbox I'd be really interested in loading games from the hard drive - sounds very useful to me.

XBcopy needs to have patches installed - PX Loaded 1.1 autoinstalls the patches whilst installing to the hdd

the advantage to installing the game on the hdd is that loading times are much quicker - plus it keeps you original disk in pristine condition (something which collectors value in the their libraries)

Copying games to the HDD constitutes making a backup and is illegal, until otherwise proven.

If HDD backup discussions are permitted, DVDR backups should be too.
