    Advice needed - running WoW on a Powerbook?

    Hey all
    Ive been severely tempted for months to buy World of Warcraft, but I've never been sure if my Hardware will run it sufficiently.

    Basically, Im using a G4 Powerbook 1.33 Ghz processor with 256MB Ram. Ive got 30gig available on my harddrive, and a quick enough web connection. Im just not sure if it will run ok on this? Any advice or comments would be appreciated, as long as they're not of the "just buy a PC you ****head" variety.

    Mac noob here, do they have dedicated "on board" graphics ?

    Possible comparison with my laptop;

    Win XP/P4 2600 processor/512mb ram/on board graphics gave about 12fps with most detail settings in the middle.

    Prehaps someone on the WoW official forums might have already tried on your system ?

      I was playing it on an 800MHz G4 (lower than minimum system requirements!) for months before I got my G5. Buy more RAM and keep your detail settings low and it'll play reasonably well.

        I know people have said that the iBook isn't worth purchasing to play games on (not a top priority) but how capable is the 1.5GHz processor with the NVidia card at playing games? Is there much improvement with the the 1.67GHz and the ATI card?

          David (and others) - they have dedicated NVidia graphics in recent years; the 1.33 probably has an NVidia GeForce GO of some form - the 1.5ghz current model has a and FX Go5200. It's not the same as nasty Intel Integrated rubbish.

          The one thing I'd say is that's FAR TOO LITTLE MEMORY FOR OSX. Let alone playing games in it; you need 512 minimum, really. I think it'd run WoW pretty well, as long as you bumped the memory by at least another 256.
