Since my old tv is starting to act up i thought it might time to get a decent tv.Browsing some sites such as amazon.co.uk and dabs.com.It seems to me LCD tvs are becoming more popular.Could anyone recommend one for me.I would also be happy for any recommendations for a decent CRT TV to

screen size aslong as its bigger than a portable (i like the odd game of steel battalion)

    Price roughly between ?200-300

Try www.avforums.com there are sections dedicated to crt tvs and lcds, and loads of the guys on there find gaming as important as films, so they will be able to point you in the right direction.
On here you will get everyone tell you there screen is the best, where as on there you get people who change them all the time and no the differences, Obviously there are people on here too, but there is a lot more traffic regarding TV's on there.

lcd screens are best for smaller screens up to about 28", bigger looks a bit naff and is costly (at the moment)...

crts are still your best bet for picture quality without doubt, i've found toshiba to be very nice and also philips/lg (philips supply picture tubes for a decent wedge of the tv market).

I'm selling my widescreen CRT Toshiba 28ZD26 if you're interested? It's only 8 months old, has Component Input (with Progressive Scan) and 3 SCART sockets, excellent picture with all consoles I've tried on it (GC and Xbox look brilliant through Prog Scan).

        PM me if you're interested.
