    Chipped X-Box and NTSC DVDs?

I'm pondering getting a chipped X-Box - one with an Xecutor Pro 2 chip found at http://www.premodded.co.uk/premodded.htm , and I was hoping I could use it to replace my DVD player. My current DVD player handles import DVDs by converting them to PAL 50 - as my TV can handle NTSC colour but not the screen width. Does anyone here know if a chipped X-Box would play Region 1 NTSC DVDs properly? I've heard some people say it skips, others say it doesn't. Could anyone who has a chipped X-Box and a PAL 50 only TV let me know if it works for them? Ta.

It will play them (using dvdx2 or a dvdx patched msdash ofcourse) but since you're outputting an ntsc signal to pal, you will get some juddering which is hardly noticable, except in long pans and scrolling texts. This would also have been the case with your old setup by the way unless your tv is capable of displaying 60 hz. In that case the best result will be seen by using the enigmah videomode switch programme and an rgb scart.
