Yes Asia and credit cards

Hi guys,

I see the white PSP has gone up for preorder at Yes Asia, works out about ?170 with free delivery and no VAT!

However, it has a part underneath the order asking for your credit cards issuing bank, and phone number for them.

Do they start asking you to fax them a copy of the credit card etc etc? If so I really couldnt be bothered, and will simply get it from Lik-Sang and pay the VAT.

The other thing that would bother me is this:

"This product cannot be cancelled or returned after the order has been placed."

So if your psp turns up broken, tough ****? Don't rate that kind of policy.

You do have to fax them a copy of your credit card statement, which is annoying.

However, I've ordered many things over the last few years from them and nothing has arrived damaged or late, or had any charges added.

Couldnt be bothered with that then. I've already ordered a PSP with them before Christmas, but I still have to go through that? likely..

Will stick with my pre-order at lik-sang then, guess import will be about ?35 or so!

They are not covered if you have a stolen card, so they are asking you to do that and then saying they will take the payment on trust, it allows them to take less hits with fraud and keep prices down.

My last order from lik sang was ?183 including shipping and I got hit with a total bill of just short of ?240.

It was ?183+ 6% import duty + 17.5% vat and a handling and paperwork charge of ?12
=
183+193.98+227.92+12.00= ?239.93

Thats actually quite a shocking price including customs!

Guess I might have to take the plunge and get it from Yes Asia after all, maybe I'll use paypal to pay.. shouldnt be any problems with that, right?

You do only have to send them a fax once - no complications with later orders.

Online problem is, my credit card is from EGG, so I dont get any monthly statements, its all online.

I placed the order though and asked them about it, heres what I got in reply :

Kindly note that your order has been
successfully approved already for further sourcing process. At this time,
there seems to be no problems, however, we will check again with our
accounting department should we require Credit Card information for
verification. At this time, we have not yet cancelled your order.


Not exactly sure where that puts me!
