    EvoX major problem. *all sorted*

My Burnout2 worries earlier were nothing compared to my problem now

Got a new EvoX file off reliable source and...

Basically all apps are working but everything else is now messed up

Launch DVD, MS Dash, Reboot and Power Off are all in RED and locked

    On the background it reads:
    MIB Temp Env Error
    CPU Env Error

I can click on System Utils but all features are in RED and locked too

So now I can't FTP from PC to put other files back on! as settings is locked up :x

Need an expert on xbox FTP client now. Its my only way to access xbox files and possibly get it to see my PC

I need to get at my original evox file on my pc via xbox FTP

    Please help...

I'm assuming you're using your old evox.ini file with the new version of the Evox executable. The new evox changes a few things in the ini which is probably causing the problems.

You need to ftp the new ini file over (which comes with the executable) and modify it as needed for your menus etc. Or just put the old evox executable back on.

If you can't ftp in its current state you need to boot a working version of evox off a cd which will then let you access the HD by FTP.

      I'm not sure
I copied accross the file I was given and this is what happened.

My xbox was working fine on its original evox file

Then I got a new one off the same person and that caused all my apps to dissapear from the menu but added the Launch DVD option on main menu

So I copied my old evox file back and everthing was fine and back to normal without the Launch DVD etc...(and oh how I wish I'd just left it like that) and back to normal without the Launch DVD etc...

However the same person (reliable source) sent another file for me to try and hence the mess my xbox is currently in

Anyone know how to use xbox FTP client and get it to see my PC so I can get my original evox file and overwrite this messed up one?

create a cd with evox on it and put a working evo.ini file on it, then it will boot from the cd and not the hard drive, then replace the broken .ini file with the working one from the cd.

I can get access to a cd burner with cd-r but do I not need xbox image on it or something? If so where can I get one?

Is there no way through xbox FTP?

You could use the xbox ftp client but you would need to set up an FTP server program on your pc which the xbox would then connect to. However I doubt this would work as the xbox still needs an IP address set which it doesn't appear to have as evox is messed up.

Is there anyway you can delete or rename files in the ftp client program? If so rename or delete the evox.ini file on your hard drive and it will be recreated when you reboot the xbox. If you are using XB-FTP I think you can rename/delete local files.

I'm pretty sure I can delete the file. I found it in xbox ftp (its in 2 places E:\ within EvoX folder and on C:\ just lying around

Will this not cause xbox to lose it completly? What sort of options/settings etc will be lost?

              Thanks for the help

Yeah, just tried it an XB-FTP lets you delete local files.

Go into it, and choose your C drive

press the x button to highlight the evox.ini file

Then press start, choose delete from the menu , and follow the instructions

Then reboot the xbox and it will load up with default settings.

Then you can change your FTP settings

You will lose the custom menus such as apps/games etc

But the important thing is that it will let you set up the FTP settings again, so you can connect to your PC and copy the correct evox.ini file over again.
