what program can open a .nfo file

No point getting a special application for it, just tell windows to always open it in notepad. It's a text file.

i tried to open it but it just opened a system file.

Well first of all got an error saying system file invalid, then forced it into word (nothing) then notepad which opened some weird system file.

One of the programs that david linked me to did the job nicely.

Change the extension to .txt and then read it as normal

Or right click then "open with".
