i was thinking of ordering one as i have a large crt monitor and tbh the gc doesnt look to hot on my tv set due to sclaing issues(but my crt monitor should look great in 480p).

I have a thing just like it, slightly different model.
Does what it says on the tin basicly, I spent nearly double that and it was well worth it for me. Prog scan is a vast improvement.

Only problem is you (more than likely) won't be able to see anything until it switches into progressive. And obviously you need games that support 480p (NTSC ones basicly) or a mod chip to force the issue.
