    Firefox plugins help

I'm new to Firefox and was just wondering which plugins to use...
    There seems to be hundreds!

Please direct me and tell me which plugins I should download and use (give me a link if poss).

I just want them so that I'm saving time. I don't want to use any plugins if they are crap and just hog up my system resources.

Also, is there a way to resume the webpages/tabs in a Firefox window of what I last used? This feature was used in Opera.

Thanks to all replies in advance.

Depends on what you want to do, I guess.

Here's what you want though: https://addons.mozilla.org/extension...nfo.php?id=436

    Some I use:

    Adblock
    googlebar
    Gmail notifier
    Foxytunes
    All-in-one gestures
    Spellbound
    Greasemonkey
    Platypus!
    Web developer toolbar
    Search sidebar

Get some search plugins too, stuff for eBay, etc... I use it mostly to search VGA and eBay at the same time, I can then quickly see and compare results

Adblock can block anything on a page. Say, the NTSC-uk logo if you're at work behind a firewall The googlebar extension isn't the same as the IE version, it's a lot more powerful. The 'official' google toolbar isn't worth the effort of installing. Firefox does have a google search plugin but if you click the little google logo, you'll see a whole bunch of search options which can be changed and altered if you check the search plugin link above.

You don't have to install them though

Mouse gestures is the only one you really need, speeds up browsing no end.

if you use adblock and then import

filtersetG, you'll pretty much never ever see another advert. also this speeds up browsing since your not wasting time loading crappy banners and flash.

You utilise a mouse button press+movement to navigate. For example, I hold down the rmb and draw a downwards arrow, let go of the rmb and Firefox goes to the bottom of the page.

                    Aceness.

Is there a way of storing/backing up extension so that when I reinstall windows I still have my extensions there?

you could always just backup the whole firefox directory, when you reinstall plonk it down in Program Files and it'll work, its pretty self contained.

not the best method but one.

You could 'Save As...' the .xpi files, I guess.
