Wireless network?!? Stopping my BB connection!!!

    Hello!

    EDIT:

Hello! well my wireless is up and running but whenecer it is up, my Broadband does not work!!! This is very frustrating! Why is this? If it matters i am using a D-Link Air Plus G 524 wireless router and a Airplus G+DWL-G520+ PCI Card.

It just stops my BB connection? Why is this?

    Thanks a lot!

Try changing the "channel" of the wireless network on the router if poss (this is what had me stumped for a while). The default channel wasn't doing the business.

Do you know how to access your router's web interface? If not, it's read the manual time. If you do, then all the options you need are in there somewhere. Browse around or use the wizard.

Look at the manual. You need to log into the router - it has a tiny server to administer it built in - and from there you'll be able to configure things like the WEP key.

Regarding Ascii/hex: it's simply how you enter the WEP key. WEP keys by nature are hexadecimal, i believe; however, you can have an ascii wep key which is easier to remember, and it just gets converted to hex by the hardware.

(To properly answer your question, ASCII is the American Standard Code for Information Interchange. Otherwise known as the DOS character set.)

How are you connecting from your ADSL modem to the Wireless router, and what model is it?

the adsl modem is going to the WAN port of the router, and the router to the ethernet port of the PC. The modem is a Netcomm NB5 and the router a D-link Air Plus G 524.

From here it all works fine, bt when it gets the wireless signal the BB connection stops.

Someone told me it could be the filter, but why would this make a difference? If it matters the phone line i have the BB connection to does not have a filter, as there is no phone connected, but my BB is fine, and the phone line that does have a phone in does have a filter.
