Who has stock of the new ibooks?

Does anyone know who has stock of the new ibooks?

I really want to order one but no where I can find has them yet, mail order prefered.

If you see somewhere with stock can you please let me know, thanks.

Umm, the Apple store? Am I missing something here?

Apple store have them coming in today, but the mail order side won't ship till middle of next week, however apple have sent shipments out to 3rd party retailers already so some may have them in today for delivery tomorrow.

I have a 12" G3 500, one of the first new style ibooks, and I love it, still does everything I want to do with it fine, but the cd rom has gone on it so I thought I would use that as an excuse to get a new one, looked on the apple site and they have just updated them, you now get for ?699....

I really wanted to get one this week as I was off work, so may go to bluewater in the morning and pick one up, just the thought of bluewater on a saturday morning during school holidays scares me!
Having said that because it is school hols it may be empty?

the new specs are very good.. be even better if you could get the educational discount!

I went to Micro Anvika on Friday to look at the Powerbooks,and had a brief look at the iBooks.

From what i remember the top one was sold out but they had the rest. Out of interest Gizze why are you going for an iBook over a Power? Nothing against them,hoping you can make up my mind for me which one to get.

Micro Anvika still had the old ones, well I say old they are only about 9 months old I guess, but should have got some 14" new ones in today and the 12" ones on Monday/tuesday.

Reasons to buy a 12" power book over an ibook were..

Bluetooth built in as opposed to an ?80 option on the ibook
60gig drive over 30gig
512ram over 256meg
1.5ghz processor over 1.2ghz
better trackpad with scrolling

Now the ibook has...
40gig drive
512meg ram
bluetooth as standard
1.33ghz processor
and the new trackpad

and it is ?699 instead of ?1049 for the powerbook saving ?350 I just think it is a no brainer, for ?1120 I would rather have the ibook for the sofa and one of these for the Plasma from http://www.cwonline.co.uk/...

Ordered one of the new ibooks last week, was shipped on monday but can't for the life of me find any way to track the thing? The order status just says shipped!

Looked again at the shipped email from apple and noticed it states that it will take 6-7 business days for delivery! Where's it coming from?!

Anyone know how to track shipped apple store items?

It is shipped from Ireland.

John Lewis said they are getting theirs this week, so I am going to get it from there, only cause I know I will sell it next year and to have a years warranty remaining is a nice selling point.

Well, my PB was shipped from Thailand, to Holland, to Ireland, to me. I know this because I followed the tracking all the way to my door. Took about five days.
