    My PC has gone wrong!

If I have 2 sticks of ram installed the memory test it says ' failed ' and if it doesn't say failed- when I run a game the pc resets.

If I run 1 memory stick the pc works ok- using either stick on its own!

If I connect all my essential cooling fans the hardrive will randomly shut down the computer during windows.

When my 3D graphics cards initiates a 3D game it usually shuts-down the computer and the harddrive usually gets a partition wiped.

This is my system- all new stuff!

    ThermalTake 680w 3-rail power supply.

    Abit AN7 Guru

    Athlon 3000

    400DDR Ram

    Geforce 6800

    Maxtor Hard Drives

I also have these that I have swapped to no avail:

    Geforce 6600

    Antec 350w PSU

    Mercury 400w PSU

    Albatron KX18DP2

It's my mates pc- he has always built his own- but this situation has him stumped!

    Any ideas? Cheers!

Tried sticking either of the sticks (seperatly or otherwise)in another pc to see if anything happens?

sounds like a faulty dual channel ram set, download a program called memtest and put it on a floppy and test the ram

Thanks for the advice- I have tried MemTest and using the ram in another pc and it seems one of the sticks is faulty.

Me and my mate have decided to take all the components back and start again- because the problem can't be totally isolated and it's doing our heads in.

        Cheers!
