All LCDs have backlights (unless they're newer LED ones) otherwise you wouldn't be able to see the picture at all. Like the old GBA...

It's the fundamental flaw with LCD. Turn the backlight up and you get nice bright whites but useless blacks. Turn it down and you get better (but still pretty poor) blacks but duller whites.

I just convince myself that it's like watching a movie in the cinema, which have always had poor black levels.

Bring on the 42" OLED sets...

Argh, now I can't decide whether to go for 37LP1D or 37LB1D (Some sites say "R" at the end, but LG's site says "D") and what the real difference is. Or perhaps the 32LX2R, 32LP1D or 32LB1D ...

I got mine from Beyond Television, but it looks like they're out of stock currently.

Some people on here recommend Digital Direct.

Does anyone know if its possible to get an adapter that allows you to connect 2 vga cables to one vga input, a bit like those scart blocks only for vga.

Any of the experts on here like to comment on whether or not this would make a suitable monitor for a 360? I'm looking for something portable for system-linking goodness sessions for somewhere around ?350-?400.

                    Yep, that would work great.

Does anyone know anything about the LG 26LC2R? I'm thinking about going for one in my spare room, but i can't find any reviews anywhere.

If you can afford it, get the Oppo OPDV971H.

know any online stores that sell them?
can only seem to find good writeups about it.

EDIT: doesn't matter, they sell them on the official website. this dvd player is making me drool.

Any ideas when 42+ inches 1080P Plamsa / LCD will be common place and affordable. ie no more than 1,200 pounds. Will it be available say 18 months time for example.
