It's already beeen confirmed 1080p works over HDMI and VGA (by simply pressing the Menu button to get rid of the error messege, I'm told)... but I'd wanna use the VGA on my PC.
Don't think it works mate although i'm not home till weds night to be able to confirm. I ended up using a DVI-HDMI for the PC so the PC will set to 1920x1080. If you use VGA for the PC it won't set to 1920x1080 easily you have piss around with extra programs etc etc.

Does Sony yet do a screen that has more than 1 HDMI? I wouldn't mind running thr 360 through VGA is the HDMI accepted 1920x1080 from a PC 1:1 mapped, though I'd need a HDMI for my PS3.

Of course, switchers will be cheaper by time I actually get a 1080p screen, I can't see it being in this half of the year unless something big happens.
My parents are planning to get a HD screen for the living room and if that happens, I'll sell them mine and put the money towards a 1080p screen, but I have a hard time seeing that happen this half of the year.

Yes, the 1080p W-Series and X-Series both have 2 HDMI.

Also the 1366x768 V2500 and S2500 models which arem aking their way into stores between now and early this year now have 2 HDMI.

Irritatingly all the Sony ranges except the X only have 1 set of Component inputs.

A question for those with Toshiba TVs: What is the difference between the WLT66 and WLT68 series? I'm thinking of going for the 32WLT68, which is around 870 pounds, but I can get a 37" Toshiba 66 series for 800, and obviously has a larger screen. Are the 68's really that much better?

Anyone who's considering the Sony BRAVIA KDL-40W2000, I've just reviewed it:

              Yum

Also, remember the halo issue on the KDL-32V2000 that I gave Sony a bollocking about only for them to tell me I was imagining things? Funny, because they've fixed it for this Good old Sony...

Lyris, as per usual a top quality, well evidenced review.
Definitely going to have to take my 2010 back to the shop now and go with the W.

Thanks Krispy, I'm assuming the 2010 also has the slight haloing issues on standard def modes?

It does but to be honest I dont really pay too much attention to it.
I only sit about 6 feet from the TV and although it is more than adequate I feel with a bit more investment I can have a much better set.
I have come so used to watching TV on the LCD when I actually visited my parents at Christmas and watched the Plasma(PX60) I was amazed at how much I preferred the image on my own TV.
Although I am not knocking plasma my Sony absolutely kills it for colour rendition and sharpness.
I am looking about now for a set for my living room (W will go in games room) and am torn between getting another LCD or a Plasma.

Same here, as I said in that review, I can understand the appeal of Plasma (I think it's screen structure makes digital TV a lot more tolerable) but I've never got on with it.

Anyone heard anything on the new 100hz ready 32" Samsung HDTV - LE32M73BD?

beyondtelevision.com have it in stock for £924.99.

Is it worth the extra £200 over the also new N73 series just because the M73 is 100hz?

Getting no help over at the avforums.

                        Ta!

I wouldn't bother with the Samsung's at all, the casing is nice but the picture isn't.

                          Get the 100hz Toshiba WLT68

Yeah, Samsung do make some nice panels but they don't seem to have the video competency needed to make a good digitally-based TV.

Thanks for the reply. I've already got a Samsung HDTV (one of the late 2005 models, 26") and I've never really had a problem with it. I just want to upgrade in size and I've decided to stick with Samsung. I was gonna go for the WLT68 but I've heard the viewing angles aren't too great. Then again the fact that the WLT68 is supposed to be good at standard def it still appeals to me.

I just got a WLT68 (32") and the SD images its displaying are nothing short of gobsmacking, even with digital TV from a cable box. I'm currently watching LOTR and I'm finding it hard to believe it's standard def.
