    Good news one way, bad news is I know have to speed ?600 asap

        That fix is great news. I'd already ordered but knowing my luck, I'll need it. Just got back from Ikea with an Oppli (one is enough for me!) and hoping the TV is here by the end of the week

          Do the Samsung's have component sockets?

          According to Samsung's website the 26" version has them and the 32" version is "to be determined". I've also read reviews where there is no mention at all of component sockets. Confused!! Maybe someone can clear this up for me.

              Although the UK website is utterly useless, for some reason the Dutch Samsung site has all the UK manuals for this series of screens, if you want to check any particular details.

                Hmm, just called up Samsung there, and was told that they are aware of the problem, and are working hard to get a fix, but there is not one available yet, and I should call back if I see tearing again. Now, I haven't personally seen any, but will be selling the set soon (it's too big for my room after redecorating/re-arranging) and when I asked the buyer if he wanted me to get the set upgraded before he came to get it, and he was all for it.

                Perhaps this tech just wasn't aware of there being a fix yet?

                  Thats a bit odd as I would have thought they'd be aware of it otherwise why would Samsung have made the announcement

                    people are being sent a cable and the software to do the firmware update. quality. My tv comes on friday, I think I will ring up samsung and get them to sent me a cable regardless of what happens

                      I called today as I'm going to get the Samsung and asked what the situation was with the screen tearing situation and the guy told me that the problem was known and that a user fix solution was being debated with management. I said I'd ring back in a week or two when hopefully they have an answer. I'm not about to buy a machine to then ship it back off to Samsung.

                        MACO; I was told on the phone that all current sets out for shipping have had this upgrade already.

                        I called again later; they're going to be picking it up, I don't have a PC with a serial port, and my Powerbook certainly doesn't.

                          is there a designator where you can indentify a set that that has been corrected on ship I wonder? Obviously a lot of retailers are going to have 'unfixed' stock

                            Almost everywhere has been sold out and have been restocked within the last day or 2, so hopefully that will be those ones sorted. *wishful thinking*

                                I got mine today, huzzah. I'm annoyed though because I bought the hulk: ultimate destruction and it doesn't have 720p as the US version does. BOoo
