GC & XBOX - Component lead or VGA Cable?

Well, with all the LCD/Plasma threads i have finally jumped onboard to the 42" goodness... I recently purchased a JNC SST-42HDW LCD TV.

Was wondering if it's worth it for me to get a component cable for my xbox and gc given that i already have the modded vga cable for the gc and the vga thinghy (the good one X2VGA or sumting) for the xbox, will component look better? or will the vga leads look just as better or better?

whilst on the subject, anyone know if the JNC i got is any good?

Probably best to get a Component cable and use your VGA box, as your VGA box is likely going to be a Transcoder from the sounds of it, as opposed to the VGA cable which is going to be a relatively cheap converter.

I'm pretty sure the former is Prog. Scan only mind.

whilst im at it, can someone recommend me some hd stuff eg DVD or clips off the net or games which i can test my lcd to the max?
