Latest and Greatest Xbox Chipz

I am thinking of getting my XBox done up so I can play back homemade Video CD's and foreign films et al. I was basically wondering what the latest and best chips are, both solderless and soldered? I've read a lot of back posts but I expect it changes quite frequently. Is it still Xecutor 2.3 I think?

How hard is it to put Xbox Media Center on for a complete novice?

Thanks , hopefully people know this stuff of the top of their heads, so shouldnt be (too much) hassle.

Xecutor 2.3 is very old now, the newest one is the X3 which is meant to be good, i'm not sure how good chips like the smart xxx are. but i've got a Xecutor 2.6 and thats very good so that or the X3 are a good choice IMO.

as for XBMC it's very easy to put it onto your xbox. once you have chipped your xbox and got evox on, all you do is connect your xbox to your pc and set it up for FTP(very easy to do) and ftp the XBMC file to E or F:apps/XBMC and it will now be in your apps section
