    PS2 Model Number "Change"

OK so I am "up le creek sans les paddle" cos I need to magic my PS2 into a newer model.

    Any ideas?

Well, I bought a new one from Woolworths, boxed my old (working) one up and took it back a day later citing it wasn't reading any of my game discs and got my wonga back - and a new version 7 PS2.

This was the one and only time I done that though.

I have a feeling it's gonna have to be something along those lines....

yes but you'll have to switch tops of the ps2 cause they might check the serial numbers on the back of it, when you take it back.

its tempting to do it but i'd never do it.

My brother has done it on a few occassions, if you go in there and act really stupid and say you got the wrong one for your brother for his birthday or summit and your mum bought him the right one you can. You just gotta skillfully open the new box to make it look unopened

As a consumer there is no risk, you can just balls it out and claim 'that's how it came when I opened the box', make sure you buy with a credit card, if the shop gives you any greif go straight to the CC company, voila, new PS2.

Not something I would endose, but don't let some jobsworth in retail put you off being a bad ass mofo!

I feel your pain, mate. I really do. I'm in the same situation but there really is little chance of me passing off my PS2 fopr a newer model. Dust and the occasional scratch (annoyingly just off the top cover on the back) work against me. Plus that fact that I've popped a wire inside and used an old mod that has no doubt taken years of the lens' life makes it an extra cheeky proposition.

My only hope is to take it back and complain that I've been sold a used unit whose serial doesn't match up and the unit has scratches. Very long shot...

                  Why do that?

There is a MUCH simpler solution.
