    New laptop advice

I'm thinking of buying a new laptop, and the most I can spend is $2500. After doing some research into it I configured the following system at just that very price with taxes and shipping. Is it worth it?

How does this sound? I've priced it out, with taxes and shipping, right at $2500.

Memory 1GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz 2 Dimm

Video Card 256MB NVIDA? GeForce? Go 6800

    Hard Drive 100GB Hard Drive

Network Card Integrated 10/100 Network Card and Modem

    CD/DVD Drives 8x CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer write capability

    Wireless Networking Card Intel? PRO/Wireless 2200 Internal Wireless (802.11 b/g, 54Mbps)

      Looks like a Dell.

I recommend a PowerBook! I was a die hard PC user till I bought mine a few months back. Never looked back to be honest...

        Yes it's a Dell (Inspiron).
I have one of these: http://www.rockdirect.com/notebooks/pegasusti_cons.htm
which I think are also worth looking at, although I'm not sure they'll do US.

Can't go wrong with a Dell, personally I'd go for Toshiba as I've never had a problem with their laptops and they've been them for aeons.

Looks good to me. From such a beefy spec I assume he'll be using it for PC gaming so a powerbook could be out of the question.

That mobile Geforce 6800 is very powerful from what I've seen, I bet that laptop could hold it's own in games even when compared to decent desktop systems.

What are it's dimensions, weight and battery life?
