Is it possible to exchange an xbox without a receipt?

Just ordered an Xbox from Argos via chocollect.
I then emailed them to ask if I paid the difference would they send me a green Xbox. They basically told me to accept what's given.
Is there anyway around this? Can I take it back to another shop (or an argos store) without a receipt & exchange it for a Green Xbox?

The main reason why I'd like to do this is because I've heard the Green ones have a better RGB picture. Is this true? What model has the best RGB output?

Anybody help?

returns to argos stores are ok i think. just take it to an argos store with an email printout that shows how much you paid etc

Yes, but it will say I only paid ?68 for it.
This thing is brand new & will not be taken out of its box.

If it was bought from argos via whoever you would be entitled to an exchange which is, a refund on your original amount and you pay the difference.

But as you only paid ?68 I guess this isn't what you wanted to hear.

I've heard RGB is actually worse on the green xbox and it's hardly worth messing around just for a different colour.

You got a bargain, why not just leave it at that?

Some people are never happy - they get a bargain then still want more. Argos don't do green XBoxes anyway. The original poster should be happy that he got an X-Box for a bargain price.

As I understand it, you should be fine. The current batch of XBoxes, green or black, have a slightly better RGB output than the initial run at launch. As long as your new machine has a fairly recent 'born on' date you're fine.

You are entitled to swap your xbox for green one if they do them, but you will have to pay the difference.

Have you actually called them and asked them what they say ??

No receipt, just a delivery note. Dosen't say how much I paid for it either...

Seems to me that you've got a bargain there, but if you're really desperate for a LE Green Box, then why not sell your newly-arrived 'Box privately (surely you'll get more than you paid for it?), then use the proceeds to put towards your Green 'un.
