    'Cube Cable Confusion....

    Right!

Ive bought a nice shiny Panasonic PW7 Plasma, and i'm dipping my toes into the world of progressive scan..

Can a PAL GC output 480p through a component lead, or is it only NTSC cubes that have this ability?

My PAL GC is Viper chipped, and will be playing mostly NTSC games...

    TIA!

(PS: Can PAL GCs output S-Vid out of interest, as I have another wiring option...)

The PAL GameCube hardware itself can output 480p fine, but not PAL games. You need to use NTSC games.

Though the Qoob modchip can force PAL games into 480p.

A pal GC can do prog scan, but only with ntsc games, even with freeloader.

Afaik, there's no s-video lead for gc.

PAL GameCubes can't output S-Video. NTSC ones can.
