A couple of questions regarding Steel Battalion / LoC

So i've caved in, and decided to spend a small fortune on buying Steel Battalion and Line of Contact.

Do many people still play Line of Contact online? Or does hardly anybody play due to the lag/lobby problems that I read about in the review?

Are there any gameplay differences between Steel Battalion and Line of Contact? Or are they pretty much exactly the same game but one online and one without?

You'll want to head over to some steel battalion fan forums where you arrange to meet up with people. Laggy rooms hardly happen now but the servers are typically empty unless its been pre planned. Both games are pretty similar really, the sequal has some nice ideas such as the custom soundtracks but you can basically see it as an online disc and an offline disc.

I'm gonna have to trade mine in as I'm getting rid of my X-Box for the 360 and the 360 doesn't support old controllers (which is a bit ****e tbh). I only ever played LoC once but a mate of mine used to play it fairly often, the lag was pretty terrible a lot of the time making it pretty unplayable but when it did work he thought it was great.

The rarity of the game means that it's unlikely that there will be that many people playing online but the original is still great fun to play offline.

i've seen them for sale cheaper on this site but its not bad

i paid ?117 for mine brand new from HMV (took out a style card at the same time)

the game itself comes with both steel battalion's anyway so you havent got a free game as such, just LOC cant be played at all unless you are on live - thats why they bundled it with the original game

but nice purchase nevertheless

i have line of contact but never played it online

it seems too much of an arse ache as it means setting it all up, going online, not finding any servers and then packing it away again

wouldn't mind trying it though

I sold mine a month or so ago after buyiing it from new over a year ago.

Just couldn't be arsed to get it out of the packaging and couldn't be arsed with LIVE.

I have it but I need to set it up in our spare room, use of desk etc. I could be up for a few games this Sunday maybe? oh I`m crap at it.
