Help on Panasonic Q

Does a pure JAP unmodded Panasonic Q play JAP DVDs only and with the aid of the Freeloader would it play UK/PAL Games ? Im completely unsure so i needed to ask someone

Yep it would only play Region 2 NTSC (Jap) movies. Although there is a disc floating around which updates the firmware to enable multiregion NTSC playback (not PAL though - that would need an internal mod)

Freeloader works fine, too - of course it's limited to the games it supports.

I know the Freeloader works fine on my US console to play Jap games but it sometimes has problems playing PAL games. Im just wondering if on the Q im going to have problems playing PAL games with the Freeloader.

Yeah, it will have the same problems, as the GC part of the Q is identical to a JAP GC.

If you're only gonna play US/JAP games then the Freeloader will be fine. The majority of Freeloader problems come from playing PAL games on a US/JAP system.

Remember the Q mod will only allow you to switch between US and JAP mode, the "PAL mod" is only for movie playback.

Iv just sold my PAL GameCube (hooray) so i wont be needing to play any pal games on the Q. I do play USA and JAP games tho so a modded Q would be ideal and the added bonus of PAL DVDs on a Q is making me wait to get a modded one. Thanks for your help Tak its appreciated.

Oh and another thing would the platinum wavebird work with a modded Q. I think that would be the ultimate of setups.

It is the ultimate setup, especially if you're falling asleep....just toss the wavebird on the floor, save your game and then switch off the Q with your remote
