So, anyone else prepared to see the likes of poor old Darkstalkers, Mercury, Dynasty Warriors and at least one good driving game (quite possibly all of them bar Bloody Need For Speed Chav Warriors) get utterly annihilated in that rush? I know a sizeable opening list is good for most consumers, but there have to be a number of devs with fun but offbeat games who are going to miss the usual boost they would get from your traditional limited launch lineup. That's practically catching up with the total number of UK DS games available already.

Nice one fellas, I soooo don't want to get a PSP but its payday and Sony have mind control over the weak. That list has kept me from making a foolish error.

EDIT: Thats not a PSP bash by the way, just the style of games that I like aren't present in that lineup, agree with ya mid but hope some more unique games make it out soon.

One other thing, can you play imported games and UMDs on a PAL PSP?

Games... yes... at the moment! UMD movies only PAL (and one would presume Japanese as they are the same region for DVD) releases.

I don't think I could handle having a PSP that was region locked or having a Japanese PSP for which you had to import all the games for. I guess it wouldn't be so bad if PAL got the games eventually but you know the more interesting ones wont make it out of Japan. Its like owning a PAL PS2 all over again.

Who region locks a handheld anyways, thats just nuts o_O

Without this barrier no doubt I would have succumbed by the end of the week...its so shiny and bright

Actually, I was kinda meaning the opposite - there are a few really good looking and offbeat games in that lineup, but unlike Fantavision on the PS2, JSRF on the XBox and so on, they can't count on a reasonable number of sales to the game-starved early purchasers who wouldn't normally try something different; the lineup is just too big and too well stocked with the depressingly staid games that already shift bucketloads on the PS2.

If I were buying a PSP (right now I can't afford one), I'd quite like to play Virtua Tennis, WipEout PurE, TOCA 2, Mercury, Lumines and Dynasty Warriors. But I don't think many of them will sell that well, to be honest.

Oh I see, played Wipeout a fair bit on mates so that's not really gripping me as it would have done, otherwise its really only Lumines that appeals. I'm sure Sony will survive without my monies

Probably not Japanese movies actually, as European UMD movies all have a region 4 designation o_O

What the hell! They've changed us to region to 4 for UMDs just so we can't buy Jap UMDs!?! That goddamn sucks!

Not quite sure why I'm pissed cause I'd never buy a UMD movie, but it's annoying to know that I won't be able to buy a UK UMD and play it on my White PSP.
