Got the PAL version today in the post and started on normal difficulty and riddle mode.

Are you meant to start off in that amusement park place with a gun and machine-gun???

I think that's consistent with your action setting. But Silent Hills are usually a bit of a non-challenge action-wise (usually comes down to subtle variations of twatting a slow moving something with a metal bar or deviratives thereof) so I think it's useful to set it at highest difficulty setting. That said, SH3 does feature a lot more action than any of the others.

You do start off in the amusement park IIRC, but its all a dream.... that said I dont recall seeing a machine gun, but its been a long while since I played it.. great game as it goes, persevere.
