PS2 not reading cds or dvds, HELP

Got a problem

The ps2 isnt picking up the fact I have any ps2 games in the machine whatsoever, nor a dvd.


Anyone had this issue before, if so was it easy to fix, or get repaired and if so how much are we talking

totally gutted.

Come on guys, I know there are ps2 gurus here that would be prob able to even fix it.

Would u think it is fixable, it was working fine in the morning, then in the afternoon went to play PES and it just goes straight to the menu and doesnt acknowledge my games, nor dvds.

What version is it? I think this would help anyone who has an idea.

I know the V9 and V10s are prone to this behaviour.

how do i find the version.
it is a silver ps2, not sure of version atm.

fingers crossed it is fixable.
