What ways are there to connect an 360?

I'm still very confused about everything HD so have a question.

It seems most HD TV's only have one HDMI input-isn't this what the 360 will use for HD? I also want an upscaling DVD player, seems they all use HDMI too. So basically, how on earth do I connect the two devices? And is it even worth buying an upscaling DVD player? Will a 360 with progressive scan be just as good?

The 360 will do HD over component or vga

Thanks-so what does it include in the box, just the HDMI cables (sorry to sound so thick...but IS that component?) and I'd need to buy a VGA cable separately?

HDMI is a digital video/audio interface

        See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI

The 360 doesnt have HDMI. (or atleast ms havent announced it)

Component is a analog video interface

        See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Component_video

The 360 full pack comes with a component cable and a vga cable is available as a addon.

What connections does your TV have?

I don't have an HD TV yet, I was just enquiring. I only got confused as I mixed up component with composite (I know composite is crap though...just mixed up the words), and I will therefore connect the 360 with the bundled component leads, and use any other hardware such as a DVD player with HDMI leads. Thanks for your help.

Does VGA or component give better quality?

VGA always looked better to me (unless your display is bad at handling it). It doesn't have compressed colours.
