PS2 => Xbox joypad converter question

I have a question about PS2 => Xbox joypad converters. I bought a MagicBox (made by Farmer) from Consoleplus (www.consoleplus.co.uk). It doesn’t seem to work. I plug in with a PS2 controller connected and the Xbox off and it just selects random menu options for me. It does this with a regular PS2 dual shock, an ASCI FT2 stick and a Hori SC2 stick. I guess it must be broken and I will return it.

Can someone recommend a good PS2 => Xbox joypad converter, and a good place to get them from. Consoleplus now sell this one: http://www.consoleplus.co.uk/catalog...roducts_id=197

    Thanks

You need to plug the controller in before you switch the console on - did you do that?

I had the machine off, plugged in Magicbox and PS2 pad, turned on. Pad automatically selects MS dash every time. From there it works fine though (but can’t use with emus).

With the FT2 stick it makes the evox dash go odd (menus overlapping) and then automatically selects MS dash, then Memory, then delete… Had no saves that could have been deleted luckily. Though it may have wiped dgenx, not sure as I never tried it before using the FT2 with the magicbox. My SC2 stick just freezes the console with it.

I’ve read about people using converters with PS2 arcade sticks on this forum. There must be a working solution. There bloody well better be, as I want to use my sticks for FBA. That xbox pad is sub-awful. Any pad designer who though it a good idea to not allow the player to press a diagonal without pressing very hard and spending a second or two locating it is stupid.

i bought mine from peeps on the forums - i think damrabbit had a few for sale a while ago (not sure if he still has them though)

otherwise check Ebay (SS Fighting Stick is what you need) or get in touch with tokuda who might be able to source you one
