Second Life now free

The crazy improv online game Second Life is now free to join.
You have to register with your Paypal or credit card, but they don't charge anything. It seems to be just to block multiple accounts.

Anyway, it's really interesting. You just download a small client and it streams everything to your PC.

This the game that requires a super computer to run without having your eyes melt? Everything in the game world seems to take about 20 seconds before it loads in properly. It also seems to have a problem with CTDs and glitching.

These problems aside, its a pretty fun and sociable game. Its always fun to take a nerf gun and bump someone halfway across the area

Cool. It was only about $10 or something before, but I hadn't bothered simply because I really don't have the time to play it much.

i tried to do a search for this game on here earlier on today but apparently the word 'second' is too common...

anyway, i think i'll try this, if only to annoy the vast amount of furries that seem to have taken hold of the place.

Is this the game they did a big write up on in Edge the other month ? Seemed like quite an amazing community, especially with the design aspect of the game, with the users designing everything in the world, with freedom to invent and incorporate anything.

May join just to have a quick look around out of interest. Not got enough time for real life atm though, let alone a 2nd life ! Bet they won't appreciate me going for a "running riot" in the disco either
