Scratched UMDs

I've had my PSP since UK launch and the plastic outer cases are scratched to **** on the reverse (access side).

It doesn't really matter as it's only aesthetic but I just thought I'd check if this is normal...

I would take it back but they won't have any more machines...

my jap machine does it, too. it's a very common design and/or production flaw of the machine. i'm very pissed off about it but i've read so many stories about it that i doubt that you would get a replacement psp that wouldn't scratch your umd-outer-cases.

I've got a couple on my Ridge Racer UMD but that's about it.

(then again it's spent the most time in the PSP so far which probably explains it)

Sounds like it might depend upon the individual build of ones machine...
As I say, it all works perfectly so it's not the end of the world.
