How do I network 2 PCs?

How would I network a PC with Win2K and XP together. I do have an ethernet cable connecting both of them together but I dont know what to do next. Thanks.

If you're connecting two computers together directly like that you'd need a crossover cable, not a normal ethernet cable. This is the same but with the connections swapped over....
Otherwise you would need a hub (or router) in between the computers - then you can connect each to the hub using a normal ethernet cable. Some DSL modems are also routers - check how many sockets are on it.

usually just two pcs via a crossover cable and enable file and printer sharing

Also, make sure both PC have IP addresses in the same range. and have a shared folder on both computers.

Ethernet cable is fine and is probrobly easier to find. If there are only 2 computers, you can share files, printer and modem without a rounter. WinXP has wizards to set up the network so it should be easy.
