    DC link cable compatibility

Does anyone know what games the DC link cable can be used with? I didn't even know this thing existed.

    as advertised here

    F355 Challenge
    Virtual-On:Orotario Tangram
I think one of the Aerowings games can as well.

It's worth it for linkup VOOT though. Truely a marvelous experience.

Virtual on looks like a good 'un, but to properly play it 2 player I'd have to splash out on two twin sticks as well. That'd be pricey. Is it really that good? Cos that's a lorra lolly.

Funny that it's compatible with F355, cos that's like the least useful type of game to play without seeing the other person's screen. Unlike an fps.

It is pricey but if you have like-minded friends who are willing to play and develop with the game then it is a great experience. I certainly don't regret the money I spent on it and I still linkup a couple of times every month.

Remember arcade racers are not meant to played with split-screen. Having a full screen display all to yourself is marvelous. You shouldn't need to look at your opponents screen to block overtaking attempts. Any decent battle racer should have a well implemented rear view mirror.

Precisely, though - with a decent rear-view mirror, there's not much to be gained by 'cheating' and looking at the other person's screen. So having seperate screens isn't quite as important. Meanwhile, something like Halo or Quake 3 is vastly improved by having seperate screens, as it stops the others seeing where you're hiding.

mid. You put it better than I could. I especially hate playing fps's on split screen with people that know the level/game better than you as it gives them just one more extra advantage. It's a shame that more games don't make use of this feature.

When the PSX had connectivity as standard, we used to enjoy games of Red Alert or whatever on it. Something totally not possible on split screen. When I heard that the DC had a modem as standard I was *disgusted* to find that this was in omission of a regular link-up facility or support. And now, with DCs being sold fro the price of a budget PS2 game, there'd be loads of chances for people to enjoy multi-player games.

            Oh well... such is life.
