GBA micro - initial charge???

does anyone know how long nintendo recommend charging the micro for on its initial charge?

Probably until the charging light goes out. I have done that with other Nintendo handhelds, for their first charge, and not had any problems.

for the first time charinging they always recommend you charge it for atleast 12 hours... don't know useful that really is but you should atleast charge it till the light goes out before using it the first time.

For the first charge I may have left mine on overnight so it would have got at least 5 or 6 hours. I presume it trickle charges when the light goes out.

what light? the micro has blue lights that light up the start/select buttons, but they go out after a few seconds???
