Whats different about this version of Gaiden, I heard it has the Hurricane pack included but arent sure exactly what this comprises of?

Got my copy today and i've played it for a couple of hours.Here's whats included.

Contain's all the content's of the Hurricane packs which is new enemies,new weapon,different item placement's,faster fighting engine,manual camera and the intercept move.

Now this is what Black brings to the table.Two new difficulty's,Ninja Dog Mode(easy mode with a team ninja twist 8) )and Master Ninja mode,the hardest difficulty team ninja have released for NG,so hard only one tester was able to fully complete it.I have'nt been able to try it out yet as you have to unlock it.All your completion times and rankings can be uploaded to xbox live scoreboards.

New enemy placement for all difficulty's except normal,which is essentially bog standard NG.But all other setting's have new enemies coming at you in larger group's and with improved AI if you can believe that! plus the bosses are now joined by friends in the form of ninja's and fiends,and wait until you square off against........YOURSELF! yup there's a new fiend in Black,that can transform into anything it see's.Unfortunately it see's you alot! major kudo's to TN on this,'cause it feels just like fighting against a human opponent,the AI is that good.I admit,he floored me instantly,pure ownage

Improved visuals.The game's certainly had a bit of spit and polish.Ryu's model is fantastic now,they've given him an extra bit of muscle on his arms(looks mean!),more detail on his face and his standard black leather costume is now much more detailed.Bloom lighting has been used to great effect as well,not over done like some games.Plus new in game cutscene's have been added,as well as the kunai scroll's being voiced by ayane.

Quite alot of new costumes in here as well.All the ones from the hurricane pack are present as well as brand new ones,like ryu's classic gaiden outfit and an outfit that looks like a rip of shinobi's(PS2) costume,but much more meaner looking - red scarf included.The only outfit no longer available is the ninja of the future outfit,but that was **** anyway!

The original arcade classic ninja gaiden is included(has to be unlocked)as well as the NES trilogy.I managed to unlock 'coming attraction's' which has a crystal clear version of the e3 DOA4 trailer(WOW!),maybe there's some more to be unlocked.

Then we have probally the best addition this game has to offer.Mission mode,a collection of 50 mission's including fighting bosses or opponent's with a certain criteria,think of soul calibur's mission mode.While i have'nt been able to sit down with it yet as,yes you have to unlock it .From what i've heard,it is easily the best thing team ninja have done with the series so far.If you've played the second Hurricane pack then you know kinda how mission mode will play out.But as with the HP2,some of the mission's are ROCK! But it focus' on NG greatest strength,straight up combat

This is one hell of a package,and as itagaki stated,is the game Ninja Gaiden should of been.I could'nt agree more.There's soooo much in this game,and it's not like TN rushed it either.They took their time and sculpted the greatest action game of this gen imo,and then went and released it at a discounted price! Genius.

Thanks for that info Akira, although Im not so sure about the additional difficulty modes as I found NG to be ridiculously hard on Normal anyways

Also the new one has been given a 15 BBFC I think , so it has human decapitiations in the PAL version

thats why ninja dog mode is worth going through.They give ryu super strength and an awesome twist i won't spoil here

That is correct, but I've heard no news of PAL cuts yet to the Black edition. It's not released here until near the end of October.

From reviews I've read, Black does have the original arcade Ninja Gaiden complete with co-op mode, but not the NES trilogy which was on the first Ninja Gaiden.

Coming Attractions is unlocked after playing the game for one hour.

yup,as the more i play the harder it is to find where they are.Itagaki said they are definitely in here.Hmmmmm.

Anyway,everyone needs to play this game again.Black proves how brilliantly designed this game is.I went back to the bog standard ninja gaiden yesterday and man what a difference.Black is a totally different beast 8)

I think I shall get the NTSC version very soon from VG+, not a bad price.
