    Virtua Fighter PC

Here's a wierd thing I figured worth posting...

Asda are selling a load of Xplosive titles for ?1. Nothing to get too excited about though... Sonic 3D and Midtown Madness springing to mind. But they also had Virtua Fighter 2. Now the entire SegaPC range is a load of crap really, but at a quid, I figured why not...

Anyway, after installing the game to my machine, it's perfectly clear this is in fact Virtua Fighter Remix o_O
Balls-up on Xplosiv's behalf, or was the original SegaPC release like this?

Sounds like a balls-up, Virtua Fighter 2 definitely came to PC - I've just been playing the demo (in Win95 compatibility mode, 16-bit colour depth and in software mode - nowhere near full speed on an XP3200???!!)

Virtua Fighter Remix (the one you have) was released as 'Virtua Fighter PC' - the original Model 1 version wasn't converted to PC.

The early SegaPC range was crap, all dodgy Saturn conversions rather than Arcade - guess they weren't too bothered.

The later stuff that Empire converted is fine though - HOTD 2&3, Crazy Taxi, Sega Rally 2 etc.

Might email Xplosiv and see if they offer to exchange this disc. Then I'll buy another copy from Asda and have the both ^_^

yes it did. so did sonic cd, i think the pc version of sonic cd had the japanese soundtrack aswell. i owned it, but sold it on as a profit because it doesn't work on xp or 98 properly.

i own virtual on, it aint bad. i would rather play it on the funky saturn.

Did it not? Is that what shipped with the Diamond Edge 3d card?

I bought the PC version of Sonic CD at Toys R Us in New York and got the hilarious US music version!

But that's better than the time I got the Xplosiv UK version of Sonic R and realized they'd forgotten to copy the music tracks completely. They got a little better with Sonic 3D, where they copied the music off a badly scratched CD with clicks and pops...but at least it was there.

I did a quick google for a review of the Diamond Edge version, that was Remix too.

Here's the ugliest site I could find that shows this:

The initial batch of Xplosiv Sonic R discs did indeed have the CD music missing. But all later runs of the game have it intact.

the Xplosiv Bubble Bobble/Rainbow Islands is worth picking up. Good conversions.
