    Laptop Ram

How do you find out what type of RAM fits into your laptop?

No I don't have it's manual, that was lost long ago!

Obviously fitting in the best RAM possible is the only option instead of some slower older types

Is it not possible to take a look on your laptop yourself? I know my laptop just takes normal PC DDR!

Just checked the crucial site and it couldn't determine my model, but it did say a little about my RAM status, no slots free with 320 installed out of a possible 2048 max.

Non-parity DDR PC2700 it seemed to come up with..

Make sense anyone? ?@How much should I install considering I'd have to remove one of the sticks to fit another in? Is it expensive for my type of RAM?

Okay a couple of problems since I just posted. I just checked my laptop to see the ram it mentioned from the cruical website and actually I have 3 visable slots, only one of which is taken up??...So if the the crucial website is wrong on that, then they may be wrong on the type of memory also installed?!

Back to square one I guess

Most manufacturers have PDFs to download with tech specs. Probably worth a look there.
