ssx tricky ps2 - pal or ntsc?

Which version to get?
Can someone whos played both versions say if the pal is slower or bordered.
And i read that there's a character exclusive to each region, what're these characters like?

PAL is bordered and (probably) slower. It isn't an awful PAL conversion by any means.

The PAL version sort of has an exclusive character. When Jurgen was pulled EA realised that there was no longer a German entrant in the series which would potentially harm sales of the game in Germany (go figure ).

In their infinite wisdom they took the existing character Mac, recoloured his clothing, gave him some slightly longer hair and a dodgy german accent and said he was German American. He plays identically to Mac (who is therefore no longer in the game) and has all the same costumes, boards, tricks etc.

And sales of the game in Germany were increased tenfold as a result
