DVD experts, i need your help.

Well i have a whole bunch of family guy episodes sitting on my hd & i want to try & burn them onto dvd so i can watch them on the tv instead of my tiny pc screen. (sort of a temp measure till they release season 4 on proper dvd)

Is there a program that can convert the video files & burn them to a dvd to enable me just to shove the disk in a player & watch.

Stuff like this is totally new to me.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Yes there is. Google for TMPGenc. That will conver the AVIs into MPEG-2 format video streams and MPEG Audio format for the sound tracks (you'll get two separate files).

Then use a program called DVD Lab to link each episodes' video file with its' audio one and author the disc.

Ever consider a set-top DivX player? They're pretty cheap these days, especially if you get them online. I believe Phillips does a model, which I've seen at Dixons once. It wasn't too cheap though.

I used to have a Yamada 6600 (until my flat got burgled and I got an chipped XBox). Here's the next model up, the 6700

Cheaper than the MPEG-2 license for TMPGenc, in fact, so I really wouldn't bother with it.

I use divxtodvd, free bit of software that converts mgs, avis etc into the vob files you need to burn a proper dvd (via Nero or whatever you use).

            Works for me...

Download ConvertXtoDVD (formely DivXToDVD) 4.0 : DivXToDVD allows you to convert your videos to DVD and it supports the most common file formats
