ebuyer.co.uk, don't know how much performance difference you'll notice though for the upgrade (guessing the CPU isn't mega cheap)

Forget the CPU, more memory is what you need.

So forget the CPU and spend the money on RAM instead? I might as well go 2gig then no?

Dunno about your money situation, but 2Gb is a good upgrade. Anything over 1Gb is good for Windows XP.

Im using windows 2000, but I like to open loads of stuff at the same time
So I guess I should go for 2gig memory over the cpu upgrade then, kool

You can never have too much memory (within reason obviously). I'd think about running Xp though with a laptop of that spec.

You might get away without a step-down converter depending on what the AC adapter and plug is like - you might just be able to replace the plug cord.

but I dont like XP, maybe when I upgrade the RAM I'll see.

What do you mean about the ac adaptor/power cord thing? Im guessing the power cord is stuck to the screen and not a seperate cable that can be plugged in the TFT and the socket.

My mated got one, I'll ask him, Im guessing if the UK ones have a seperate cable then the US ones should have as well, no?
