help needed with PSP emulation - Mac related

    hey all
Managed to get hold of some emu and homebrew today off a friend, but some of the files are in a strange format I havent seen before....7z? Its apparently like .zip, but unfortuently my normal 'stuff it expander' doesnt work on this type of file. Does anyone know of any mac software than can expand this sort of file?

Also, what is the easiest file booter to use on the PSP? I.e one that doesnt require you to write any code (me stupid with that!haha).

    Thanks in advance

For decompression, have you tried http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/19139 ?

Yeah, I tried that and it didnt work. I gave up on the 7z format in the end. For anyone else needing help with the extraction of multiple files to creat an ISO on a mac, use unrar freeware.

I think this is a new type of file compression, and you can use zZip to decompress it, although I dont think theres a mac version of the software as yet - http://debin.net/zzip/

          7-Zip

I'm a bit late replying to this 'cos I had to wait for my account to be authorised.

.7z files can be created via 7-zip (http://www.7-zip.org/)

It's quite a good format for permanent archiving because it compresses very well, but it takes quite a long time to do it.

There is a link for p7zip software for Mac OS X near the bottom of the download page. I don't have a Mac, so I haven't tried this, but I have used both p7zip and 7-Zip successfully on other operating systems.

          Regards,

          Jim
