    Will american hucards work on a jap machine? I know the reverse isnt true.

    No. You can buy a convertor which will allow you to run Jap games on an American machine but not vice versa. These convertors are quite hard to come by, but they do pop up on Ebay now and then.

      The man speaks the truth... they're rare and quite often very flimsy too. I'd steer clear of US games anyways... all but the rarest PCE games are usually reasonably priced anyway.

        Ive seen a Us version with a free copy of Gunhed for 40 quid, is it not worth getting then? (providing I could find an adaptor)

          The adaptor will cost you about 30 quid, which you could put towards a nice white Japanese PC Engine.

            So you definately reckon I should go for the white original then, there's one on Ebay for 70 quid (including P+P) worth getting?

              I say go for it... the white engine is by far one of the lovliest machines I've ever owned. the only thing that beats it is a nice, mint super famicom.
