PC to TV via DVI cable?

my new PC graphics card (ATI Radeon X600 PCI-X) features a DVI output but in the systems settings there's no support for 720p, respectively a 1280 x 720 resolution, which my TV's DVI input is supposed to demand.

is it nonetheless possible to conncet my PC with my Plasma TV via DVI cable, regardless of the resolution supported?

please help out before i waste any money on a DVI cable.

When your set is connected, it should detect the resolutions that your screen supports.

so far ive found i can only get 1024x768 out of my dvi cable (nvidia)

get a vga cable for higher res, altho when running vga its not as crisp, get a slight fuzz on solid colours, same my mates pioneer panel

Have you got the latest drivers? My (ATI) 9800 Pro will do a 1280x720 resolution via DVI.

my nvidia are fully updated. would love the higher res, but it just wont happen. VGA is fine tho. When dvi is in the only options there for me are 800x600 1024x768 and thats it
